Money Saving Tips

With the current economic situation and people doing many things to cut back, I thought I would share some of my tips for saving money on a regular basis. Some of these things take little to no time but do require some pre-planning.

Grocery Shopping
On a regular basis I do try to use coupons. Living in South Florida I do most of my shopping at Publix which can be expensive. Using the I Heart Publix website I am able to not only save money but also the time it takes to find and organize those coupons. Publix shopping is no longer more expensive than the other stores, in fact it tends to be a lot less.

Grocery Coupons & Gift Cards
There are so many online sites with coupons and points to be collected. They add up! It isn't necessarily a quick way to save but it all adds up.

Savingstar - Link up your grocery reward/discount cards and earn for your regular shopping.

My Points  - Print grocery coupons from their site and receive points that can be redeemed for gift cards. You can also shop online to receive additional rewards.

Shopkick - An awesome smartphone app that gives you points for walking into stores and even more for purchases at select retailers. Target and a few others also have smartphone scannable coupons on this app. Points can easily be redeemed for gift cards. I have already redeemed over $50.

Ibotta - This iPhone or Android app allows you to get cash back for purchases of advertised items. After you purchase items just upload a picture of your receipt. Easy peasy. :) Money is easily transferred to your paypal account when you reach a $10 balance. Publix is now a participant!!! Not an Ibotta user? Sign up here.

CheckOut51 - This iPhone or Android app allows you to get cash back for purchases of advertised items. After you purchase items just upload a picture of your receipt. Super simple. :) Money is easily transferred to your paypal account when you reach a $20 balance.

BerryCart - This app allows you to get cash back for purchases of advertised items at specific retailers. Scan grocery receipts containing specific items for cash back to your Paypal account or an Amazon gift card. $5 minimum for transfer.

Shopmium -  This app allows you to get cash back for purchases of advertised items at specific retailers. After you purchase items just upload a picture of your receipt. Use my referral code (KEUKYFUE) and get a FREE Lindt Chocolate Bar offer when you sign up!!

Recycle Bank - Earn points that can be redeemed for Gift cards and reward coupons. My regular grocery store occasionally has $5 off $50 coupons available. A coupon for $10 off $30 is occasionally offered for Bed Bath & Beyond as a reward as well. You can also earn points if you recycle and your service provider is a participating member.

Free Products

Smiley360 - Get free products just for giving your opinion, making a review and sharing on social media sites.

Influenster - Get free products just for giving your opinion, making a review and sharing on social media sites.

Online Shopping
Ebates - This one is huge!! Since 2007 I have gotten back $1,171.06 from Ebates. Get cash back for shopping online (not just shopping but travel too). Sometimes as much as 15%. That is huge savings and really makes a difference when I do shop online. Retailers even offer special promotion codes just for Ebates members. If you are not a member they even run promotions giving away gift cards just for signing up!

Upromise - Save for your children's college future by linking your grocery rewards/savings cards, credit cards or by online shopping.

Saving on Dining Out
We all love getting a break in the kitchen without breaking the bank. If you live in Florida my favorite way to save is Local Dines - where you can buy gift certificates to your favorite local restaurants at a discount. But don't forget about GrouponLiving Social and Amazon Local not only for dining but also home services like carpet cleaning and repairs too!

Hope these tips can help you save now and the rest of the year too! Happy Saving!

  4. I really wish I had a smart phone so I too could take advantage of mobile coupons. Until I can afford to upgrade I'll just have to keep clipping them.
