Daylight Savings Time is right around the corner. We Fall Back on Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 a.m. and time changes can be a mom's worst nightmare. Messing up the sleep schedule we have worked so hard to achieve is frustrating for everyone, baby included. Don't worry, I have a few tips to help you through it.
Did you know that Pampers has done extensive research on sleep and they've learned that babies are more vulnerable to waking up when they're wet? Unlike other diapers that offer two layers, Pampers diapers have three absorbent layers that provide up to 12 hours of overnight dryness protection. It's Pampers hope to minimize sleep disruptions so that little ones get the sweet slumber they deserve and need!
According to the 2013 survey conducted by Pampers, almost one-quarter of moms (24%) felt that a dry diaper was the number one thing that enabled their baby to sleep through the night. As moms, we know the importance of sleep (we never get enough for ourselves) and it affects our children's physical and cognitive development, sociability and the really important day-to-day mood. That's why Pampers is so committed to keeping our babies dry through the most important parts of their day: love, play and sleep.
Daylight Savings Time Adjustment Tips
- Start Early - Putting baby to be a few minutes later (earlier in spring) each night the week before the time change makes it a gradual adjustment
- Keep It Dark - Blackout curtains are a mom's bff, they come in many price points, colors and sizes. Ever notice how you sleep in later in a hotel?
- Noise - White noise seems to make everyone sleep a little sounder, even the simple sound of a running fan can improve sleep and block out noise
- Routine - Continue your regular routine, just move a few minutes each day
- Patience - Regardless of how you prepare the adjustment to take a little longer than planned
Join me for for a #PampersSleepChat on Wednesday October 29th at 9pm EST with sleep expert, Kim West (@TheSleepLady) to learn some tips for helping ease the transition and then, how Pampers diapers provide the superior overnight protection that can keep little ones asleep for longer.

Keeping the routine is key! A sound machine works for us. jj250@aol.com
ReplyDeleteMy best tip is to use black out curtains, they really seem to help my kids
ReplyDeleteWe try to get to bed earlier for the week before
ReplyDeleteKeeping to a schedule seems to be key. Not feeling a wet diaper lets the child sleep and the parent as well.
ReplyDeleteThe spring time change always seemed to affect our family more than the fall one. We just try to stay really active on the Sunday when the time switches, and it helps us all to be tired when it's bedtime.
ReplyDeleteDede
I don't actually have a tip to help with adjusting sleep patterns, I myself actually have difficulty sleeping. I've read it helps to keep all cell phones ect out of the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteWe adjust real good to this time change, but in the spring we have to work hard at going to bed on time.
ReplyDeleteI should have done blackout curtains over the years. Heck, I could use those myself!
ReplyDeleteA few drinks =)
ReplyDeleteWe just go cold turkey, go to bed at the regular time and get up at the regular time, eventually your body adjusts.
ReplyDeleteGo to bed at your regular time. And coffee, lots of coffee.
ReplyDeleteStart the schedule a few weeks ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteWe use a white noise machine and room darkening drapes for better sleep.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness...I don't really have a tip! It seems to always hit me really hard and it takes me a while to adjust...and I image it will be worse now that I'm pregnant!
ReplyDeleteTake the extra hour of sleep!
ReplyDeleteMy tip is to adjust your nightly schedule a little bit each night for the week before.
ReplyDeleteWe slowly adjust our sleep leading up to it. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy tip to adjust your sleeping schedule a week or two before day lights saving.
ReplyDeleteDon't think about it.
ReplyDeleteStay to your schedule.
ReplyDeletewe adjust by setting two alarms for the first few days, just in case
ReplyDeleteSome parents wouldn't even think of the daylight saving time switch. I know I really didn't. This is great information and a great giveaway. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a problem adjusting, if I did, I would just go to bed a little earlier because extra sleep can't hurt!
ReplyDeleteMy nephew could definitely use these! We only used Pamper's when my little one was a baby.
ReplyDeleteI usually dont have a big problem with it. My advice would be just stick with your sleep schedule.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much change my sleep time by half hour first day and another half hour the second day.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with the change
ReplyDeletestart a few days early
ReplyDeleteIt's not really a problem for me. I'm a little tired the first day but then I'm adjusted.
ReplyDeleteBe patient!
ReplyDeleteTry to get the kids to bed earlier and be patient!
ReplyDeleteThere is no daylight savings time here in Hawaii but I have to still remember the time difference when call family on the east coast!
ReplyDeleteMy tip is just keep the routine and ease into it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the extra hour sleep :)
ReplyDeleteI don't notice the change too much.
ReplyDeleteA tip for adjusting to the Daylights Savings Time change is to set both cell phone and alarm to be able to wake up on time and go to bed a little earlier than usual to re-set your body's clock. Thank-you for a great #giveaway :-)
ReplyDeleteTake a warm bath and have cuddle time
ReplyDeleteDon't stay up much later than normal. Our house had several late nights all week long. We hope to sleep that extra hour.
ReplyDeleteWe still stick to our routine.
ReplyDeleteday light savings time doesn't affect us too much but stay on a sleep schedule and a bath before bed helps.
ReplyDeleteWe try to maintain a routine. That has helped
ReplyDeleteKeeping a consistant schedule has helped us adjust!

My state isn't affected by this but I would say maintain a schedule.
ReplyDeleteMy best tip is to start changing bedtime a little bit every day for a week prior so it isn't that big of a deal.
ReplyDeleteAdjust bedtime by 15 minutes for a week ahead of time.
ReplyDeletejust go with the flow man
ReplyDeleteKeep the routine the same!
ReplyDeleteBegin daylight savings time a week or so in advance, so when it does come its not a straight out shock! Altho what do i know, my son has been waking up at 3-4 every morning for the day for a year and a half. haha
ReplyDeleteI start moving everything up a little each day so I can ease into it.
ReplyDeletechange it gradually by 15 minutes at a time
ReplyDeleteKeeping to a schedule is very important
ReplyDeleteMy one tip is sticking to my everyday routine.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have to say that I hate it getting dark so early, but once the change happens I like the fact that it is light in the morning earlier. I don't have any tips on how to adjust, I just make more comfort foods to ease the transition.
ReplyDeleteAnn B.
The week before the time change move bed time up or back 10 minutes a day -- by the end of the week you will be adjusted to the new time.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have one-it has never been too hard for us
ReplyDeleteGet a little extra sleep.
ReplyDeleteI really don't do anything...just accept it.
ReplyDeleteWe try to do a little later bed time on the night before the time change. that first night is usually the worst. Our girls wake up ridiculously early the first morning, but adjust pretty well after that!
ReplyDeleteAdjust in increments, an hour can be a lot for a child, break it down into 15 or 20 minute increments.
ReplyDeleteBest advice is to try and keep to the regular schedule/routine as much as possible. I was worried that my son would wake up super early, but he didn't! Our 6 month old on the other hand....she gave us an early start! Julie smartsavvymama@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI don't have any tips! I usually just lose sleep and drag for a day or two before i can crash and "catch up"
ReplyDeleteStick to your same old routine
ReplyDeleteMy tip is to stick with your normal routine.
ReplyDeleteWe start doing dry runs a week before it takes my kids awhile to accept change lol
ReplyDeleteits really hard for me but we go to bed an hour later. and it seems to help.
