Mia's Last Day of Preschool {DIY Chalkboard Canvas}

School's out for summer!! This morning I dropped Mia of for what will be her last day of Preschool. Actually her last day of school in Florida as well. In August I wanted to start a special photo project for school. As you can see in this post, I had spray painted a canvas with chalkboard paint (both from Michaels) and decorated with some Ikea chalk onhand from Mia's easel.

I could not be happier I started this tradition. Today we took her last day of school pictures and my little girl has grown so much! This will be a tradition that continues.

Anyone else take pictures for the last day of school?

  1. It's funny how you can see subtle differences in the pictures. I thought my pictures would be virtually identical, but there are definite differences...my daughter has certainly grown (as has yours!)!

    P.S. - WHAT?!? You're moving? I was always hoping we'd meet up at a local blogger event! Boo.

    1. I wasn't expecting to so that much of a difference. They grow too fast! I know, Our house sold so we are off soon to find another. We will be here until maybe the middle of July, then off to Georgia. Maybe something will com up between now and then :)

    2. I hope so! My husband is from Georgia and talks about it as if it is the best place in the world, so I'm sure you'll love it. At least you'll get some seasons!

  2. Oh bless, time passes so quickly. I used to have a similar blackboard in our garage and used to play schools, obviously I was the teacher ;-)

    1. Thanks. I'm sure the princess part will keep being the answer for a few years.

  9. I love the idea of pictures of 1st day and last day with the chalkboard! In addition it was clever doing it in front of the same door so you can gauge how much Mia grew. BTW I'm from South Florida but we lived in Atlanta for 10 years. It's a nice change to have "seasons" and we miss them often... Have you settled on where in GA you're going?

  10. I can say I never did but it is a great idea. I have always done it for the first day or graduation. So when mine graduated I did.
