Gluten Free Onion Soup Mix {Recipe}

Being gluten free there are a few things I really missed using. Here is another one to check off of that list!

Ingredients

1 cup chopped/minced dried onion
1 teaspoon celery seeds (crushed)
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar

In a small skillet over medium heat toast chopped/minced dried onion until golden and fragrant. Use caution to not burn (not speaking from experience or anything, lol) Set aside and cool.

Crush celery seeds and add to a bowl. I used a ziploc bag and my rolling pin and it worked fine. Combine with cooled but toasted chopped/minced dried onion, onion powder, garlic powder, salt sugar and Herb Ox. Stir and place in a resealable jar or airtight container.

Although this is not an exact replica to the boxed favorite, it is very close. This is the same Gluten Free Onion Soup Mix I used for the Moist and Tender Oven Pot Roast Recipe. It can also be used to make dips, meats, oven roasted potatoes and more.

Enjoy!

    1. You could just use a regular beef bouillon. Probably easier to find too.

  7. This is a good recipe to have. I never seem to have those packets of onion soup on hand when I need them. I wouldn't have thought to add celery seeds.
