Caramel Apple Cider Recipe - Fall is Here!

Photo via SKCphotography
Last year I had a few of my girlfriends and their little ones over to celebrate my birthday and share my favorite fall treats. I LOVE fall, in fact it is the thing I miss most from living up North. There isn't much fall is South Florida but a few yummy recipes help in the festivities. The cider is best served hot and is paired well with pumpkin cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting (get the cream cheese recipe here). Can also be topped with whipped cream, yum!

Caramel Apple Cider

10 cups Natural Apple Cider
3/4 cup Heavy Cream
3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Combine dark brown sugar, cinnamon and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar is fully dissolved (watch carefully to avoid burning cream). Add apple cider and bring to a simmer. remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

When entertaining I transfer into my crockpot on low heat to keep warm.

Enjoy!

  9. I would use fat free half & half instead of heavy cream to lighten it up. Sounds delicious!
