As part of a Tomoson promotion the Savvy and Sassy family received 3 sample packs of vanilla flavored Naturade All Natural Pea Protein powder for free in order to review no other compensation was received. The Pea Protein Powder came in convenient take along packaging although I wasn't able to find the packets for sale on their website.
This vegan formula is 100% soy and dairy free, gluten free and cholesterol free. Each serving packet contains 130 calories, 2.5g of fat and 20g of protein. The main ingredient is Pea Protein Isolate which is derived from yellow peas also known as split peas. Naturade Pea Protein's peas are also Non-GMO although I'm not sure of the other ingredients being that it does not carry the Non-GMO Verified project label. The labeling seems a little misleading. It does contain Fructose and Maltodextrin (not organic) which DO come from corn so you can assume this contains GMOs.
I was originally excited to try the Naturade Pea Protein powder. Having heard a lot about the amazing health benefits lately on shows like Dr. Oz, I had high hopes for it. Unfortunately, neither my husband nor myself liked it much. The flavor wasn't great and added fruit didn't improve it much. It tasted artificial. The texture was gritty even after blending it. Although I do not recommend this brand, I think we will try another brand to see if we like it better before sticking with our whey protein isolate powder.
Naturade Pea Protein can be purchased online or at your local retailer. Whole Foods, Publix and Vitamin Shoppe are 3 of the listed retailers on the Naturade website. For more information you can also visit the Naturade website.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
