Our Day Out With Thomas 2013

March 9-10 and 16-17, 2013, Thomas The Tank Engine® will be at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for the Day Out With Thomas®: The Go Go Thomas Tour 2013. This is a day filled with fun family activities!

On Sunday we had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Day Out With Thomas, The Go Go Thomas Tour 2013 at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. From the moment we told Mia about going it was all she could talk about. We we got out of the car in the parking lot the excitement increased as soon as she heard Thomas' Toot Toot!

The Gold Coast Rail Road Museum is located in Miami right next to Miami Metro Zoo. There is also the South Florida Military Museum and Vetrans Memorial being built next door.

When we entered the park we followed the red line to meet Thomas for our 12:45 ride. We arrived early so we had plenty of time to get a picture before hand.

As we got to the front of the line there was a ticket taker to punch our tickets. Mia was sure to be the one to hand him our tickets. Our ride on Thomas the Tank Engine was about 25 minutes. The ride took us around the working railroad museum. It was interesting to see all of the train cars and parts in the works. Our daughter enjoyed looking out the windows and hearing the Thomas and Friends theme song.

As the ride was almost complete all of the children on board were presented with their very own Day Out With Thomas Jr. Engineer Certificate...which I'm sure she will save until we take her again next year.

There were so many things to do besides the train ride. There was a scavenger hunt the had a Thomas and Friends prize from MegaBloks, Thomas and Friends stickers and a DVD for the new animated series Mike the Knight. One of the other historic train cars contained a story time. There was also a children's play area sponsored by MegaBloks. The gift shop contained everything Thomas and Friends you can imagine all in ONE place!

The Day Out With Thomas was full of photo opportunities. I'm really disappointed that my camera broke on Friday and is being repaired, but I was still able to take pictures with my iPhone. Besides taking photos with Thomas, Sir Topham Hatt was there too. There was also a train with a cut out perfect for a little Thomas loving face.

Mia also colored on the coloring wall, got temporary Thomas tattoos and bounced away in one of the bounce houses. Miami Metro Zoo had an Animal Exhibit. The live music was perfect entertainment for having lunch in the shade or at one of the many picnic tables. There were multiple food vendors serving everything from pizza to elephant ears (yum! my favorite!). There was even a mini golf course to play.

Our Day Out With Thomas was fantastic. Our daughter really enjoyed it and wants to go back to see Thomas again next year. She even stopped to thank Thomas for her ride (too cute!!).
