The Savvy and Sassy family is a multi-cultural family. My cooking used to be very basic, probably just like the average American household. I grew up having spaghetti night, taco night and my all time favorite Friday pizza and a movie night...you get the picture.
On my own I have ventured out a little. What I had not done was added a little Latin flavor to my cooking repertoire. My husband likes cooking but has absolutely no time so when Goya offered to send me their new cookbook I was pretty excited.
The new cookbook Goya's Healthy, Tasty, Affordable Latin Cooking is great for beginning cooks as well as those with more culinary skill looking to change things up a bit. This is a bi-lingual MyPlate Cookbook full of recipes with both Latin and Caribbean flair. Goya's features quick, easy and healthy recipes that don't sacrifice taste. The cookbook includes 30 recipes for creating tasty meals that are also budget friendly.
So far we have tried the Rice with Black Beans, Light Fruit Smoothie and Mango Banana Shake. We love the Light Fruit Smoothie recipe. It makes a fantastic afternoon treat or evening dessert. I am looking forward to trying the Grilled Fish Tacos with Peach Salsa and Arepas recipes next.

I followed Savvy and Sassy publicly on GFC.
ReplyDeleteI've avoided making Latin foods because they tend to be high in calories, so I'd like a way to try them healthy.
