So last night I put a load of laundry in the dryer before went to bed...usually not a problem. Last night I woke up and heard the dryer running. I figured I must have just fallen asleep and that was why I was hearing it. In reality, the dryer broke. It wasn't heating so the sensor let it just run. Luckily there wasn't any heat so nothing was shrunk into doll clothes. Lesson learned! Here is a picture of my laundry room as is today (please excuse the terrible lighting). No the top of my dryer isn't dirty, the previous owners did something to ruin the finish of the top. I even tried making it look better with enamel paint but it didn't help much.
Regardless, the washer and dryer that came with the house when we bought it just over a year ago have reached the end of their lives. Looks like if we don't find one quickly the laundry mat will be in my future. Luckily for me, the laundry room makeover will begin sooner than expected. It already started at the end of last year with a new water heater...which followed a new a/c and refrigerator.
I would love to have cabinets and a hanging rod above the washer and dryer. Maybe a cabinet next to the washer instead of my little cart as well. I love the look of both of the sets below but that is just based on the appearance, I have no idea how well they work.
Anyone in blogland have suggestions for a new set? Top load, front load? I'd love to hear your washing machine and dryer recommendations!
Thanks a bunch!
