Glittered Heart Sidewalk Chalk Valentine's

Today is our Mommy and Me class Valentine's Day party. Mini Me will be exchanging Valentine's this afternoon for the first time with her little friends. I checked out the Valentine's section at Target a couple of weeks ago and honestly I couldn't stomach giving a bunch of two year olds candy. Does she ever get candy? Truthfully, she does occasionally and I'm sure they do too but I didn't want to add to it.

After searching Pinterest I decided that I wanted to make sidewalk chalk. It is simple enough and I had seen a recipe for it a couple of years ago in Martha Stewart Living. The only difference with ours was the addition of glitter.

I found silicone heart baking cups at the dollar store that were perfect for our Valentine project. I also don't feel guilty throwing them away when we are done. The plastic bags, paper shred, tempra paint and plaster of Paris came from Michael's. The bag toppers are free printables from Modern Beautiful which can be found here. They are just stapled on. I added little labels to the backs with an adhesive roller.

They say, "You are CHALK full of fun, Valentine!" and I got from The Scrap Shoppe Blog
The project pretty quick and easy. There was some drying time involved for the chalk. I really think Mia's friends will enjoy using them. It was nice to be able to do a little something extra for our daughter's first Valentine exchange. Did any of you make your kids' Valentine's this year too? I would love to hear what you made!! Hope your Valentine's Day is filled with lots of love!

Hugs and Kisses,
