My DIY Z Gallerie Art

Home ownership and an active toddler have kept me busy for the past few months...hence not much time to blog. That's life or at least mine and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm sure like every other mommy blogger, I am in love with Pinterest! I have found some amazing decorating ideas, party inspiration, DIY projects and mouth watering recipes! I really need to share Mia's Girly Elmo Inspired 2nd Birthday Party pictures...hopefully before she turns 3.

I have attempted quite a few and my most recent project seems to be a success. Hace you been into Z Gallerie lately? I really like LOVE that store. The only problem being that it can be expensive. For example...this awesome Cafe print by Zoey Riley.
I have had my eye on it for almost a year! With all of our home projects, decorating my kitchen walls was not really on the top of the priority list. When I finally was ready to purchase, it was no longer available in anything but the glass coated version which is between $299 and $499. So yes I love it, but not that much.

Thank you Pinterest for a few inspirational ideas on how to make my own. The first one I found was at From Gardners 2 Bergers, the other A Thoughtful Place. Both created fantastic versions of the famous Z Gallerie subway art. So why not attempt it myself. So I used my new awesome computer (Thanks Babe!) to design it myself. A little work in designing then I was off to Staples to have it printed on an engineering print. The original is basically black and white anyways. Then I headed to Michael's with a 50% off coupon to get a canvas. Here is my final project! It obviously isn't exact, in fact I added 2 additional coffees. What do you think? I really love the way it turned out. More importantly, my mimi me says, "It's cute!". What could be better than that?

Just goes to show what a little time and effort can do. Thank you From Gardners 2 Bergers and A Thoughtful Place for the inspiration and tutorials! I can't wait to start my holiday projects! Happy crafting!
