Little Ways To Share Happiness With Those Around Me

SocialMoms and Hershey's have teamed up to find out what little ways people share happiness with those around them. I was inspired to write about this one because I enjoy making others happy. To me there are so many ways to share happiness on a daily basis. I am not talking about big things but the little things that make every ones day just a little bit nicer.

Nothing makes me happier then receiving something in the mail besides the dreaded bill. I love just sending a card or little note to a friend or family member just to say hello or let them know I am thinking of them. Sometimes even just an email, text message or phone call can do the trick. I know it does for me.

When was the last time someone going out of a store held the door? Being a mom with a baby in a stroller, nothing makes me day like a kind person just stopping and taking a second to hold the door. I make a regular practice of it and sometimes it is just the little thing to make someone's day. I know this sounds simple and I am sure a lot of people take these things for granted, but I know I don't and by the smiles on the people I have held doors for, they don't either.

I always make sure that I donate all of our unused items to a charity. Things that have brought us joy and happiness could do the same for someone in need. It is also a very simple thing but why keep unused items? Especially right now, when there are so many people in need during these difficult economic times.

Another thing I like to do once in a while is paying the toll for the car behind me. It happened to me a long time ago and it really had an impact on me. I was shocked that someone would do that for a stranger. It was a small gesture that somehow gave me a large amount of happiness. Those around us don't have to be friends and family, it could just as easily be a stranger too.

There are a lot of little ways to share happiness with those around us. I have shared a few of the things I do or have done. Do you have any ways you also share happiness with those around you? I would love to hear them!
