Daylight Savings Time Sleep Tips + Pampers Giveaway

This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Pampers. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

Daylight Savings Time is right around the corner. We Fall Back on Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 a.m. and time changes can be a mom's worst nightmare. Messing up the sleep schedule we have worked so hard to achieve is frustrating for everyone, baby included. Don't worry, I have a few tips to help you through it.

Did you know that Pampers has done extensive research on sleep and they've learned that babies are more vulnerable to waking up when they're wet? Unlike other diapers that offer two layers, Pampers diapers have three absorbent layers that provide up to 12 hours of overnight dryness protection. It's Pampers hope to minimize sleep disruptions so that little ones get the sweet slumber they deserve and need!

According to the 2013 survey conducted by Pampers, almost one-quarter of moms (24%) felt that a dry diaper was the number one thing that enabled their baby to sleep through the night. As moms, we know the importance of sleep (we never get enough for ourselves) and it affects our children's physical and cognitive development, sociability and the really important day-to-day mood. That's why Pampers is so committed to keeping our babies dry through the most important parts of their day: love, play and sleep.

Daylight Savings Time Adjustment Tips
  • Start Early - Putting baby to be a few minutes later (earlier in spring) each night the week before the time change makes it a gradual adjustment
  • Keep It Dark - Blackout curtains are a mom's bff, they come in many price points, colors and sizes. Ever notice how you sleep in later in a hotel?
  • Noise - White noise seems to make everyone sleep a little sounder, even the simple sound of a running fan can improve sleep and block out noise
  • Routine - Continue your regular routine, just move a few minutes each day
  • Patience - Regardless of how you prepare the adjustment to take a little longer than planned
Join me for for a #PampersSleepChat on Wednesday October 29th at 9pm EST with sleep expert, Kim West (@TheSleepLady) to learn some tips for helping ease the transition and then, how Pampers diapers provide the superior overnight protection that can keep little ones asleep for longer.

RSVP and you will have a chance to win Twitter Party Prizes which include:

· Prize 1 - Twinkles Nightlight in Blue, 148 ct of Pampers diapers and a pack of wipes.

Couponing On-The-Go {Couponing Tips for Busy Moms}

Does it seem like you never have the coupons you need with you when you need them? If you are like me then your errands tend to be spontaneous. Coupons can be hard to come by especially that I no longer get the news paper. I do have a couple of great tips to keep you saving on the fly! One of my favorite sources for saving, especially for large purchases, auto servicing (oil changes) or home repairs is the Money Mailer

  • Keep coupons for frequently visited places in your car - I keep coupons for my favorite restaurants and pizza spots and local dry cleaners in the center console of my car. They are kept nice and organized in a plastic pencil box. (I always have 20% coupons for my favorite home goods store in their too)
  • Have you seen all of the great coupons from Money Mailer in your mailbox? Dry cleaners, restaurants, oil change places. Perfect coupons to keep with you when you are on-the-go.
  • Try to plan shopping trips/coordinate coupons the night before - Although I may not always be successful I do try to plan out any shopping the day before. If I don't have time to clip them, I usually have a small pair in my car.
  • Digital coupons - There are many websites that you can print coupons from your home. The days of retailers refusing them seems to be over. Did you know the Money Mailer even has grocery coupons on their website?
  • Money saving apps - these are an on-the-go mom's best way to save. Money Mailer has a free app you can download and start saving immediately. I have saved a substantially greater amount of money this year by using money saving apps.

In honor of Money Mailer's 35th year anniversary I wanted to share some fun coupon slang and interesting coupon facts.

Did you know:
  • 92% of consumers use coupons, 60% use printable coupons (RetailMeNot)
  • 55% of shoppers digitally "clip" coupons (Inmar)
  • 81% of consumers find it fun to see how much they can save with coupons or loyalty cards (Deloitte)
and this one which really surprised me:
  • 56% of 13-17 year olds use coupons or coupon codes (RedPlum)
For more information, visit the Money Mailer website. You can also find Money Mailer on Facebook or follow Money Mailer on Pinterest.

What are your best tips for saving while on-the-go? Happy Saving.

Our Adventure With Disney On Ice Frozen {Review}

Last night we had the fun opportunity to go to the opening night of the new Disney On Ice Presents Frozen! Getting tickets to attend and review events  and sharing them with my readers is one of my favorite things about blogging. This was also our first event at Philips Arena since moving to Atlanta.

The show was absolutely fantastic to say the least. Having seen other excellent Disney on Ice performances I just knew that a story set on ice and snow could only be amazing on skates. It did not disappoint, Disney on Ice Frozen was the best on ice performance I've seen. Get a video preview of the show here

This morning we were talking about the show and Mia said her favorite part about the show was Elsa, and Anna, and Olaf, and Sven, and Christof, and Frozenland (AKA Arendelle), and all of the Disney Princesses. She went on and on, basically she LOVED the entire show. The poor people surrounding us shared in her excited squeals and screams. As an adult the show was enjoyable too!

Our daughter loved the show and the entire arena was filled with little Elsa's and Anna's. Frozen is hosted by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, with special guest appearances by your most beloved Disney Princesses and characters from favorites like Disney Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Disney’s The Lion King, don't miss this unforgettable celebration of love and friendship. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online from Ticketmaster.

The show is running in Atlanta at the Philips Arena through October 12, 2014. New shows have been added so it is not too late to get tickets. After leaving Georgia the show is headed to Alabama then North Carolina. For more information Disney On Ice presents Frozen visit Ticketmaster or the Disney on Ice website. You can also find Disney on Ice on Facebook or follow Disney on Ice on Twitter.

If you have a Frozen lover in your house then this is a show you cannot miss. We cannot wait for the next Disney on Ice performance to come back to Philips Arena.

Disclosure: The Savvy and Sassy family received complimentary tickets for the purpose purpose of writing a review, no monetary compensation will be/was received. Any opinions expressed are based solely on our family’s experience.

Wordless Wednesday - Summer May Be Over

Summer may be over but we sure are enjoying the amazing Georgia fall weather (I'm sure I'll complain once it starts getting cold). It has been absolutely perfect for playing outside and Mini Me has been having so much fun decorating the driveway and last night the fence too.

Is Your Toddler Getting Enough DHA? + {Giveaway}

Tracking Pixel

I was a picky eater as a child (still kind of am) so it should not have come as a surprise me that my daughter Mia would be a picky eater too. We try daily to get her all of the nutrients she needs a day but wonder if she really is getting everything she needs. That is why I was excited to have her try Enfagrow Toddler as a part of this sponsored post program.

Of all of the nutrient rich foods we give her most of them do not contain very much DHA, which is an omega-3 fatty acid that is an important nutrient for brain growth. I don't know about your toddler but mine isn't going to eat fatty fishes or tofu. Did you know that on average toddlers are only getting about 25% of the expert recommended daily value of DHA? The first 3 years of a child's life are when the majority of brain growth takes place, making DHA essential in their diet.

One way I'm helping her get her daily recommended value of DHA is by supplementing with products on the market to fill the gap like Enfagrow Toddler. In two servings a day it also contains calcium, vitamin D and iron, plus a prebiotic blend to support her digestive system.

Mia seems to enjoy drinking her Enfagrow Toddler. As a mom taking this step is easy and I feel good knowing that I am helping her with the right nutrition for these important growth and developmental years.

Enfagrow is available at your local retailer in a powder or ready-to-drink boxes. For more information and to learn additional facts on the benefits of DHA for your toddler visit Enfagrow.

Win It
Enfagrow has generously offered to give 1 of my readers an Enfagrow gift package that will include the following:

From September 30 to October 11, 2014 entrants have a chance to win by simply leaving a comment on this blog post with what you love about Enfagrow, or why you want your toddler to try it. Winner will be selected using random.org and will be announced on October 12, 2014. Winners will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be drawn. Contest open to people 18 years or older in the U.S. For giveaway terms and conditions please visit: http://www.thesitsgirls.com/sweepstakes-official-rules/ .

Do you have any tips for getting the recommended daily nutrients into your toddler's diet? I would love to learn a few new tips.

10 Things I Am Thankful For

I have a lot to be thankful for in my life. These are the 10 things I am thankful for today.

1. My loving and devoted husband who is my everything
2. Our sweet little girl, she is our angel even on her worst days
3. Our wonderful families including those who are gone but never forgotten
4. Wonderful friends near and far who are like family members
5. FaceTime to keep family and friends too far away seem close
6. Coffee and the machine that makes it every morning, I cannot live without it (or at least I don't want to)
7. Our home, not only to have a roof over our heads but also home we love and plan to build years of memories in
8. Having the privilege of being born and living in a country with opportunity, safety and simple things we take for granted like clean water and food on store shelves
9. Our nation's military that makes this the land of the free because of their bravery and sacrifice
10. Life's challenges, mistakes and heartbreaks that have made me stronger, braver and wiser (and the unanswered prayers that went along with some of them)

What are you thankful for?
